Our Pastor
Meet Clayton and Melissa Ryan
Clayton joined us as short-term interim pastor in June 2021 and transitioned to being our permanent part-time pastor in June 2022. Clayton and his wife, Mel, have been involved in Christian ministry since 2012 when they moved to Europe to serve international students studying in the Czech Republic. During the following eight years, Clayton served as Assistant Pastor at the International Baptist Church in Prague, followed by Pastor of the English service at the Olomouc Baptist Church. Prior to this missionary activity, they lived in London for eight years.
After returning to Australia in September 2020, they settled in Wollongong where Clayton worked as Communications and Office Manager at Wollongong Baptist Church and held positions of Elder and Men's Ministry Leader.
Originally trained as a Chartered Accountant, Clayton feels much more at home in ministry. Whether discussing theology or watching the Dragons win (which sadly isn't as often as he wishes), Clayton is down-to-earth and up for a cuppa and a chat any time.
Clayton & Mel are excited to be a part of Tahmoor Baptist Church and are looking forward to seeing what God has in store for the months and years ahead.
