Our Pastor
Clayton & Mel Ryan
Clayton joined us as short-term interim pastor in June 2021 and became our permanent part-time pastor in June 2022. Clayton and his wife, Mel, have been involved in Christian ministry for many years, including serving international students in the Czech Republic. During their 8 years there, Clayton also served as Assistant Pastor at the International Baptist Church in Prague. Prior to their time in the Czech Republic, they lived in London and were active at their church, St Peter's Barge, for eight years. After returning to Australia in September 2020, they settled in Wollongong where Clayton worked as Communications and Office Manager at Wollongong Baptist Church and held positions of Elder and Men's Ministry Leader.
Originally trained as a Chartered Accountant, Clayton feels much more at home in ministry. He enjoys a good discussion with anyone on things of the Bible, as well as watching the Dragons win...which sadly isn't as often as he wishes! He loves their 2 poodles, cooking on the BBQ, drinking coffee, and is always up for a cuppa & a chat.
